I’m not sure how it happened since Christmas was yesterday, but somehow it is already May. Crazy! April is a weird time in the Midwest since it always fluctuates so much in temperature, so we had a great month of warm, sunny days for beach walks and cool, foggy ones perfect for hibernating. It’s also my birthday month, so that makes it one of my favorites! ;) I haven’t done one of these in awhile but hopefully I can get back in the habit – I love going back and seeing all the fun things we have done each month.

1) Random warm day in early April so we took a nice long walk to the beach with the pups. 2) Remi usually gets kicked out of the bed when Jeff comes in so I think we were both surprised to see her face smushed in the covers when I rolled over at 8am, haha. 3) We happened to be in Ohio for Easter so I got to dye Easter eggs with my niece, who… 4) somehow looks SO old and mature when she’s just a sweet little 4 year old! 5) I had been saying I would make cookies for weeks so Jeff was so happy when I finally pulled out my old trusty chocolate chip recipe. 6) The aforementioned foggy, gray day. I love the view from this bridge though!

7) We got a private room at a hole in the wall karaoke joint for a friend’s birthday and it ended up being so much fun. 8) The beautiful sunny days are starting to be more common! I thrive in sunshine. 9) Life has been so busy lately it was great to get a catch-up brunch with one of my Chicago besties at one of our favorite spots, Rocks Lakeview. 10) Finally visiting Portillios for the first time (how have we missed it for the last 6 years?!) and it was not what I was expecting… 11) But it was delicious! Seriously, that cheese sauce is second to none. 12) Rounding out the month with my birthday on the 27th! Jeff surprised me with a coconut topped German chocolate cake and some Prosecco and it ended up being a lovely way to kick off my last year in my 20s.

Can’t wait to see what next month brings! xoxo
